teaching-online

Learn to teach-online.

When we teach-online, many times we fall into the old adage that that we live what we learn.  This is no different for most teachers, as they have a tendency to teach, just as they learned themselves.

However, in today's world of high technology, and the advent of the Internet, things are rapidly changing.  Local Board of Educations are beginning to realize that if they integrate computers with teaching, things get a great deal easier, and much more effective for both students and teachers. Therefore, to teach-online is an option more acceptable as time goes on.

Today the internet is used in every facet of education.  From Homeschool students to Medical students, and even Master Degree of all types, you will find web based courses.  However it is also true that many higher education students say they want more from online learning.  The more interactive the lessons, the better is the claim.  So what better way than to blend numerous methods of teaching to acquire this.

Online instruction can be designed to be interactive, which is something that a book doesn't offer. However, combine online quizzes with immediate feedback, score tracking, and real-time comparison with how other students are faring allows learners to learn from their mistakes and get a sense of where they stand.  Students can ask their instructors questions in the privacy of their own internet connection, and not have the fear of appearing unknowledgeable in front of their peers as they might in a physically based class.

A very popular feature found in most online classes now are Chat rooms or message boards.  They allow students to interact with course instructors and other students, perhaps facilitating a more in depth learning of the subject matter.

For the teacher, there are advantages as well. The interactive features can be used to improve the teaching content.  The ease of finding the supplemental information is exquisite.  Online instruction can be used to keep track of and monitor progress of a single student, as well as a group of learners.   Added features are the interactives between teachers from different classes.  They can also learn from each other.
